"Little Brody Moments"

Hooray! Brody turned 5 months old on Friday. We are astonished at how time is flying by. Mike and I talked a great deal about wanting to sincerely appreciate and truly absorb the precious time we have with Brody right now. Mike emphasized the importance of not dwelling on the fact that Brody is growing so fast, but rather enjoying the little moments. With that, I have included below a Top Ten List of "Little Brody Moments":

1. Brody laughing and screaming with delight before he goes to bed, when he wakes up, and on car rides
2. Brody saying, "Ew, ew, ew!" when he wakes up and sees us :)
3. Brody saying, "Aaawww, aaawww!" when he studies an object
4. Brody sleeping on his side after watching him spin around in his crib
5. Brody coughing for attention - hilarious to hear!
6. Brody laughing so hard when he gets his clothes changed
7. Brody giggling when we read to him
8. Brody pushing his lips out and opening his eyes really big when he stares at
objects
9. Brody falling backward astonished at the sounds when he plays in his exersaucer
10. Brody being comforted by us when he gets scared by new sounds

Over the past two weeks, we have been so blessed by Brody's sleeping too! He is now is his own bedroom and is sleeping on average 9 hours a night. HALLELUJAH!!! Our pediatrician assured us after his check-up last week that he was ready to sleep through the night without a feeding now that he has reached his physical benchmarks! A couple of nights crying it out for a few minutes, and Brody began sleeping through his feedings! Yippee! Coincidentally, he has started teething (a little tooth can be felt in his tooth bud), so I am sure he will have a few nights a little off, which we have seen a couple of times now. We are going to try out some cereal soon to see how Brody enjoys it. We'll keep you posted. :)

Even though it does seem to go quickly at times, Tim and I take comfort in the fact it just gets better and better. And it seems like each moment is even more precious than the last...

You guys are amazing parents and should be so proud of what a wonderful little son you have!
